Cara Hunter's writing is fast-paced and immersive, pulling you into the investigation as if you’re there solving the case with DI Fawley. This is one of the best mystery books I have ever read, between the twists, shock factors, and a jaw-dropping conclusion, I was completely hooked until the very last page. It was less of a slow burn and was more of a thriller that kept burning hotter and hotter with each page I flipped. While it doesn’t end on a cliffhanger, it is the first installment in the DI Adam Fawley series, making it a perfect start for those who enjoy gripping detective mysteries.
